I love Chris Paul, and I don’t doubt that his work ethic is one of the greatest of all time. Pistol Pete had no talent at basketball, he only got that far with hard work (which is amazing, really). So I seriously doubt anyone has worked harder than Pete.

I saw Pistol at Cobo Hall in Detroit his rookie year with the Hawks. Only had one ref there because of weather. While bringing the ball down court, the ref was watching the other nine players under the far basket. Pete picked up the ball and did the “Teaberry shuffle” - a hop, skip and jump move from a gum commercial at the time. The crowd yelled but the ref couldn’t call what he didn’t see and just shrugged. A classic move from the greatest showman ever on a basketball court.

basically, you dribble the ball mostly using your fingertips, and your wrist. this drill helps you to improve your DRIBBLING, and REBOUNDING. =) This is a very very very good drill.

unfortunately pistol was solely an offensive minded player. he fouled out of one of the more amazing offensive performances in nba history, and was a defensive liability for most of his career, even though he did find himself around the ball at times
