Dre Baldwin Ball Handling Drills Pt 1; NBA Dribbling Drills

http://www.DreAllDay.com These are some circuits I go thru to keep my handle sharp. Of course, there are thousands of drills you can do for your handle. Any player, no matter what size, age or skill level, needs to be able to handle the ball. So, anyone can do these to improve their skills; and keep doing them after your handles develop- those skills will disappear if you’re not practicing!!

  11. avatar dreupt Says:

they can be done for a time period or a # of dribbles; find for yourself what works.

do you only do these for ten minutes or is this a shorter period then how much you would usually? If it is shorter, how long would you typically do each drill?

Dre: thx for da tip. I just finished a practise trying to use more the “finger tips” (and less trying to grip it in my hand of a split-second).
I was practicing eyes closed. It was really intense. Makes you much more aware of all the micro-movements of the ball and your hands/fingers! Anyways, it’s getting more comfortable…

  19. avatar dreupt Says:

finger tip cntrol gives you the best handle on your dribbling. i know what u mean by “palm” the ball, and no i dont do that. palming is technically illegal in bball.

  20. avatar atrickpay11 Says:

Dre: you know hoe a lot of people say to dribble only using your finger pads (and not your palms)?
Q on that… When doing that, do you find that you kind of ‘palm’ the ball for a split second?
I find that I do that. It gives great control, but it’s a bit difficult (which is normal for new techniques) to get accustomed to.

Before I started trying this (in the last week), I let the ball touch my palm all the time. And I had pretty shitty control.

  21. avatar dreupt Says:

a good amount of concentration. practice it.

  22. avatar 12Sulph Says:

how do you do the dribling drill at 4:16 because thats the only one i cant do please help me!

  23. avatar dreupt Says:

    thanks for the comment!

  24. avatar atrickpay11 Says:

Oops…that should be: “It allows you to keep an eye…”

  25. avatar atrickpay11 Says:

For those looking to improve your dribbling…try getting some big mirrors and putting them in your basement.

It’s pretty cool! It always you to keep an eye on your technique and make sure that it is always proper!
